Faculty-Related Goals
Short Term Goal: Within the next year organize a joint interactive activity with other chairs
at UTMB.
By 2010:
The School will have established and disseminated a
well-defined criteria for fostering and rewarding teaching related and
research related career tracks.
Waypoints:

By the end of the biennium,
document the completion of a report and recommendations concerning viable
options for improving existing tracks for research and teaching
appointments.

2007–2008
By the end of the biennium,
document completion of a proposal and plan for phased in implementation of
new academic appointment career tracks.

By the end of the biennium,
document the initial implementation of a plan for new academic career tracks
in education and research.
75% of faculty will have earned a doctorate

By the end off the biennium,
document that 55% of all faculty appointed in the school hold an earned
doctorate.

By the end of the biennium,
document that 65% of all faculty hold an earned doctorate.

By the end of the biennium,
document the effectiveness implementation of upgraded recruitment and
appointment criteria relating to earned degrees.
An overall school faculty development program and plan
will be in place with dedicated full time campus or school support
(mentors/coaches)

efforts toward the attainment of capital goals associated with faculty
endowments in CLS, PAS, and RC.

2008–2009
By the end of the biennium,
document that 90% of the campaign goals have been attained related to the
faculty endowments for CLS, PAS and RC.
25% of faculty will hold cross appointments with another UTMB school.
