ASSIGNMENT TWO
INTERPRETING STATISTICS

To aid you in creating your report there are two sample files
  1. A sample analysis file. Note: There is a link shown in your sample file and it may be incorrect. The correct link is - http://sahs.utmb.edu/pellinore/intro_to_research/wad/correlat.htm

  2. A sample report file based on the analysis file

Use the sample report as the basis for the report you turn in. There are three options for using the sample as a template for your report.

  1. Option 1 - You can copy-and-paste the text of the report from the sample web page into your word processor.

  2. Options 2 and 3 - In the sample report are links to two word processor files that you can use as report templates. These files are in both .doc and .rtf formats. Use whichever best suits your word processor.
You need to insert the two graphs that are in your analysis page into your report. First open your template in your word processor. Then, delete the original graphs from the report template. Now, open your analysis file (Go back to step 2).

There are two methods:

  1. Copy-and-Paste - You can save your two graphs in the analysis page by right clicking on the graphic and selecting "Copy." Then, open your word processor file, and click on "Edit", then "Paste." The graphic will appear in your file. You can drag the graphic where you wish it to be. The easiest place to put it is at the bottom of the file.

  2. Save-and-Insert - You can save your two graphs in the analysis page by right clicking on the graphic and selecting "Save Image As" (Netscape), or "Save Picture As" (MS Internet Explorer). The names of the files are xxx2_1.gif and xxx2_2.gif, where xxx is your secret number. The leading zero will be dropped, and a couple have odd names. Once you have saved the graphs as files, you can insert them into your word processor report. Remember to delete the original graphs from the report template.

If you use MS Word, you can insert the graphics into your word processor file by clicking on Insert, then Picture, then From File; then use the dialog box to browse to your file.  Other word processors will have similar methods for inserting a graphic.
