CLS Program Tuition and Fee Schedule

The tuition and fee schedule, for one semester of the 2009 - 2010 academic year for CLS Undergraduate Allied Health students, is explained below. You can also calculate your estimated tuition and fees for the UTMB CLS Program.

Notes - Tuition and Fees

  1. Student Service Fees cover the cost of a multitude of services offered to the UTMB campus student by a variety of offices, including Student Services, Student Wellness, the UTMB Field House, SAHS Office of Student Affairs, and others. This fee will not exceed a maximum of $150.

  3. Resident Tuition applies to students who are Texas Residents for tuition purposes.

  5. Non-Resident Tuition applies to students who are Non-Texas Residents for tuition purposes.

  7. Designated Tuition applies to all students. Designated tuition is a general use fee authorized by the Texas Education Code that most universities employ as part of a student?s total tuition costs. These funds are used to enhance students? educational experience, and the amount is proportional to the number of semester hours for which the student registers.

  9. Lab Fees depend upon the course (view course-specific fees) and not all courses have fees. Currently the lowest fee we assess per course, for those courses having fees, is $2.00 and the highest fee we assess is $50.00.

  11. Supplemental Fees defray the cost and preparation of educational materials provided to students.

  13. The ID Badge Fee is paid once per student career (excludes replacements).

  15. Medical Service Fees cover health services provided by the office of Student Wellness for UTMB campus students. This fee is not a substitute for health insurance, which is required for all students of UTMB.

  17. Liability Insurance is required of all Allied Health students.

  19. The Microscope Rental Fee covers usage and maintenance of equipment while students attend lab sessions in Galveston.

  21. The Lab Safety Kit Fee covers safety materials supplied to each student during lab sessions in Galveston.

  23. The Distance Education Fee, for distance students only, covers costs associated with maintaining our distance education efforts.

  25. The Library Acquisition Fee supports the maintenance and improvement of the medical library's print and electronic resources.

  27. The Graduation Fee supports commencement activities and the production of your diploma.

  29. The Educational Technology Infrastructure Fee supports the maintenance and improvement of integral components of the institutional educational technology infrastructure. This includes the annual license and maintenance fees for components of the institutional course management system and the online student testing applications.

Notes - Other Expenses

  1. The optional student parking fee helps to defray costs associated with parking maintenance, operation and security.

  3. A background check is required of all matriculating students. Additional charges may apply to meet state/government reporting requirements.

  5. A laptop computer is required for use during matriculation in the CLS Program. Refer to our laptop guidelines for more information. This fee will vary depending upon the hardware and software configuration purchased.
