Student Life

Not all education occurs in the academic classroom and student laboratories. Students in the CLS Program at UTMB also have professional and recreational activities on campus, at clinical locations, and in the local community. Course activities outside of the classroom and laboratory may include participation in research, volunteer work in community support projects, and presentations at area and national professional meetings.

June 2007: Two CLS students have recently been selected to receive educational scholarships. Congratulations to both!

Student awards

On behalf of the Federation of Houston Professional Women Educational Foundation, Donna Montelongo was selected as a 2007 scholarship recipient and presented with a check for $1700. The mission of the FHPW Educational Foundation is to award shcolarships and gifts to aid and advance the education and knowledge of women in the community.

 
Student awards

On behalf of USA Funds®, Kasondrah Stoops was selected to receive a $1,500 award through the USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships®, to be used for education-related expenses. The mission of USA Funds is to enhance postsecondary–education preparedness, access and success by providing and supporting financial and other valued services.

 

May 2007: Several CLS seniors were presented awards for their outstanding research projects at the UTMB Pathology Research Day. Congratulations to all!
