| Description: The student will be given the opportunity to demonstrate: 1) knowledge of medically relevant microorganisms through their cellular and colonial characteristics as well as their basic biochemical reactions; 2) an understanding of the pathogenesis and pathology of infectious diseases in humans; and 3) basic skills in selection and performance of appropriate methods for detection, isolation, and identification of microorganisms. | Prerequisite: General Microbiology (4 hours) |
