| Description: This course will provide the student with the opportunity to assist in performing a clinical research project. The student will be given the opportunity to: 1) develop clinical assays using automated clinical analyzers used in patient care; 2) submit an article on their work to a peer reviewed journal or present an abstract to either a national or regional meeting; 3) perform techniques which calibrate and validate that instruments are in control; 4) perform techniques used in assay validation and comparison; and 5) describe programming and automation of advanced instruments. | Prerequisite: Approval of the project director and the departmental chairman |
