Basic Clinical Chemistry

in Clinical Chemistry

Description:The applicant will be given the opportunity to:
  • Discuss the interrelationship of human metabolic functions in both normal and disease states
  • Correlate chemistry laboratory test results to normal and abnormal human physiology
  • Explain the principles of analytical procedures and pertinent instrumentation involved in basic laboratory procedures
  • Perform quality control techniques in evaluating laboratory data.
Prerequisites:MLT or MT standing AND General Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Contact Hours:The applicant may earn 45 continuing education contact hours. The University of Texas Medical Branch, Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences through the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® program.
Fifteen two-hour and fifteen one-hour, on-line lessons will be offered over the spring semester of each year.
Fee:$ 600
Presenter:The presenter, Muneeza Esani, MHA, MT (ASCP), is an assistant professor in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
