Office of the Dean
|
The Office of the Dean provides administrative direction for the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
The Dean and Dean's Council are responsible for the day-to-day decision making related to School operations and participate in long range administrative and fiscal planning. They
also serve as liaisons with other administrative and academic units at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and with community, local, and state agencies.
In addition, the Dean's Office assists all departmental support staff in the areas of accounting, travel, and personnel procedures.

Office of Academic Affairs
|
The Office of Academic Affairs, under the direction of
the Associate Dean, provides leadership in curricular development within
the School, ensures oversight and coordination of coursework which
crosses departmental boundaries and promotes excellence in instruction
through evaluation and faculty development activities. Affiliation
Agreements, class scheduling, student registration, student graduation,
grading and promotion activities are facilitated through this office.

Office of Student Affairs & Admissions
|
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) provides students
with the support necessary to accomplish their academic and personal
goals. Academic support services include study skills assistance,
tutoring and learning assessment. Counseling and support are provided to
assist in the development of professional identity and self-esteem. The
staff conducts workshops and discussion groups on role-playing, dealing
with procrastination, test-anxiety reduction, motivation and many other
topics related to student needs. Students will also find the OSA staff
helpful in the admission process, financial advisement, career planning
and other important aspects of their experience at UTMB. The OSA is
involved in the total academic experience of students, from orientation
through commencement.

Office of Development, Community & Alumni Affairs
|
The Office of Development, Community and Alumni
Affairs is the principal interface between the School of Allied Health
Sciences and its external audiences and constituencies, including its
alumni, the community, its Advisory Council, actual and prospective
donors, and the communications, publications, and development functions
of the University-at-large.
